As the months begin to speed towards Spring for many of us, there’s one thing on people’s minds: rain. The season we are about to hop into is famous for its rain showers. This weather poses a question: are your earbuds protected?
Especially for those of us who walk or bike from place to place, our earbuds are exposed to the elements every day. The worst thing that can happen? Your earbuds can short out if they get too wet.
Luckily, we have some tips on how to prevent this! Some of them may seem a little obvious, but we guarantee you haven’t thought of all of them!
If you have to walk in the rain while jamming out to your favorite music, here’s a simple tip: wear a hood! If the jacket or coat you’re wearing to protect yourself from the elements has a hood, put it up, and it will protect your earbuds, too!
This can be especially helpful on those days you forget an umbrella!
This tip especially goes for short bouts in the rain. If your earbuds have gotten a little wet while you were walking--whether it be on your college campus or back from getting the mail--simply take them out and dry them off with a soft cloth.
As soon as you walk in the door and out of the rain, drying off your earbuds can keep them from prolonged or serious damage.
This may seem like a no-brainer, and that’s because it is! Having water-proof or water-resistant earbuds is the perfect way to protect your music listening experience during this rainy season. Not sure what the difference between waterproof and water-resistant is? We have a blog for that, too!
If your earbuds aren’t waterproof or water-resistant and you want to change that, check out our awesome selection to find the perfect pair for you!
